English Summary

Preface

Welcome to the Internet presence of the Regenbogenstrasse FfO! This page is a short summary of the German version. Due to our limited number of staff members we can provide only this short summary of our activities.

History

The Regenbogenstrasse (literally translated: "Rainbow Street") came from the American "Caraway Street". In 1984 the project started in Germany.

Vision

The Regenbogenstrasse is children's entertainment with Christian content. We want to present the Christian basics in a way that is comprehensible to children, thereby showing them the love of Jesus; moreover, inviting them to live their lives with trust in God.

What We Offer

In the morning we provide a puppet show - our core work. Four characters, each represented by a different puppet, experience several adventures together along with Uncle Mostrich (a real person). The adventures are full of hope, fear, conflicts and friendships. These stage plays can help children to cope with their daily struggles. After the puppet show, the children will see or hear a story from the Bible that is related to the presentation they have just seen. Around this we sing together, play games and do handicrafts. In the afternoon, there is a one hour time for recreational activities: at the beach, paper chase, sports matches, etc. Every day there is a different activity. At the end of the day, we provide a goodnight story in combination with a song, and there is the possibility of having a talk together. We offer our program in German daily from Monday to Friday for several weeks in summer. Our location is the Helenesee near Frankfurt/Oder. You can find out our dates here.

All For Free?

The Regenbogenstrasse is a voluntary project. The staff members pay for their own travel and board. The whole aim of the ministry is to present the Christian faith in an innovative way. For further questions feel free to write to the webmaster: christian (at) auf-der-regenbogenstrasse (dot) de.
